Summary

We work in a national team, in the Environment and Business directorate, helping to plan and to implement plans for the water industry related to protecting and improving environmental water quality. This post carries out a unique role for the Agency acting as the official arbiter between water companies and applicant’s in first time sewerage schemes (akin to the Planning Inspector role). You will manage a case load of first time sewerage disputes. You will process these using an extremely thorough, logically approach which weighs up and balances all the evidence and arguments. And you will do this in a way that is totally impartial and that will stand up to Judicial Review.

This is an exciting time to join the team to help steer the work to improve the water environment.

You’ll have a range of development opportunities and appropriate training will be provided.

We value diversity of thought, background, and experience and believe it enriches our work and benefits our people, communities, and the environment.
The team
Water Regulation is a national, dispersed team which uses evidence, engagement and innovation to support delivery, influence policy and secure resources for regulation of the water industry and wider water sector.

We are recruiting multiple roles, see Additional Information Pack for all roles.

You will have:

· Critical and logical thinking skills, ideally from legal training

· Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders during site visits

· Experience of the Judicial Review process and of working with legal colleagues
