Summary
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our vibrant team at our Children’s Activity Centre, Condover Hall which is based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Supporting the Head Chef, your role will include training the catering team to develop their skills and promote a positive and enjoyable kitchen environment.
Condover Hall is an elegant Grade I listed three-storey Elizabethan sandstone building, described as the grandest manor house in Shropshire, standing in a conservation area on the outskirts of Condover village. The restaurant provides a buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner service for both guests and staff. At peak times, Condover Hall can house up to 600 guests so the kitchen is a fast-moving environment that provides tasty, filling and crowd-pleasing menus.

No late nights! The earliest start is 6am/7am and the latest finish is 7pm/8pm
Christmas and New Year off! The centre is closed over the 2-week festive period

What are we looking for?
• Previous chef experience - Training needs can also be provided
• Experience in larger catering environments is a bonus but not essential e.g. school, events
• Good knowledge of health and safety and hygiene standards
• The desire to innovate and produce food of outstanding quality
• A customer driven team member who can work with children and young people
Day to day, your key duties will include:
• Prepping and cooking breakfast, lunch & dinner - ensuring that high standards are met and meals are in accordance with company guidelines
• Staff training and working as part of a team
• Stock control (stock take, receive and check supplies)
• Working to the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, stores, and back of house areas
• Catering for a variety of dietary requirements
• Following due diligence procedures such as HACCP
