Summary

We are recruiting a Personal Advisor at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Tredomen

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Social Services 16 Plus Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £27,711 - £30,060 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Personal Adviser (PA) is to support care-experienced young people, typically aged 16 to 25, as they transition from care to independent living.




The postholder will provide guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance to help young people access education, employment and housing. You will act as an advocate, ensuring the young person’s voice is heard in decision-making and that their needs and aspirations are central to planning.



The successful candidate will build trusting relationships, to empower young people to develop life skills, navigate challenges, and achieve their goals as they move toward independence.



For the role, we ask that you have:

A NVQ Level 2 in Child Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
Understand and respect confidentiality and the importance of managing personal and sensitive information in a professional manner
Experience of working with people in complex situations.
A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to support clients and attend meetings.
