Summary


Following successful progression of the recent post holder, we are excited to announce our search for an experienced endoscopy nurse to lead our endoscopy and decontamination services at the Royal Marsden Hospital – Chelsea site.
The successful post-holder will be expected on operationally supporting further developments planned for the service whilst maintaining quality and safety of the daily activities within the service which would include:
• Upgrading of the endoscope decontamination machine
• Opening / expansion of new endoscopy services at the Chelsea site
• Workforce training
• JAG assessment on-site visit on April/May 2025

Assessment date: w/c 10th of March (Face-to-face)
• To be a professional and clinical role model, leading and coordinating the Endoscopy and Decontamination service at the Chelsea site. This would involve organising and taking full responsibility and accountability for the daily management of the two services. It would also include managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities including staff management.
• Perform 75% of rostered shifts clinically in all areas of endoscopy which includes shift coordination, pre-assessment, procedure room, recovery and admission.
• To oversee the delivery of specialist endoscopy services to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which includes -colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, EUS with FNA/FNB, EMR, ESD, ERCP, cystoscopy and other major endoscopy interventions.
• Ensure that practice within endoscopy is aligned and/or up to date with Trust policies including practice guidance from the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) in gastrointestinal endoscopy.

• Assure and evidence safe provision of endoscopy and decontamination service at the Chelsea site

- Equipment and consumable availability at all times including contingencies

• Perform a minimum of 75% of rostered duties clinically within all disciplines of endoscopy
• Management of all nursing and HCA workforce requirements and monitoring compliance to all HR and JAG metrics
• Support the provision of evidence as part of JAG accreditation requirements
• Participation in the on-call rota
• Flexibility in meeting the service requirements
