Summary
Wastewater Treatment Engineer | Okehampton, Devon | Full Time with Weekend On-Call (Rotor System) | 45 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday | £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Our client is a Sewage & Wastewater Treatment Engineering company based in Okehampton, Devon.
Formed in 1986, they have grown to become one of the leading service providers in the Southwest of England, with a growing customer base in the Southeast of England. Their primary business involves the service, repair, and refurbishment of packaged sewage & wastewater treatment equipment, as well as packaged pumping stations.
Are you the right person for the job?
• 18th Edition wiring regulations - BS7671
• Electrical or mechanical competencies - Level 2/3/NVQ or equivalent
• British Water Level 1 (& or 2)
• JIB-PMES Card (Wastewater Treatment Service Engineer)
• Confined Space (Type B)
• Experience working with Packaged Sewage Treatment Systems (RBC & Aeration Technology) & Pumps (Submersible & Surface Mounted) is required
• Strong Process knowledge
• 1 year + electrical/ mechanical engineering experience or have proof of being electrically competent
• Physically fit to do the required job. A medical may be required
• Hold a Clean Driving Licence and undertake a driving licence check
• IT literate especially on MS products and preferably in use of a PDA reporting system or service-based reporting packages
• Proven ability to fault find in a range of demanding environments
What will your role look like?
• Obtain tasks using PDA software as provided and trained to use
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times and discuss with customer (when present) on all recommendations and note these on your report
• Liaise with customer on site as required and keep them abreast of any issues/updates on their expectations and seek office involvement where additional unforeseen costs are required
• Carry out a visual risk assessment on each job as required and raise any concerns with office
• Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task ensuring that all parts used are recorded
• Carry out monthly stock takes on van stock or stock stored at home
• Carry out on-the-job training and partake in personal training courses as required
• Vans are tracked for health & safety and customer verification purposes and you will be provided with a SATNAV system to help you take the most efficient routes between jobs
• Ensure all company property and vehicles are maintained in line with company policy
• Report and carry out any other requests required as may arise in the normal course of business
