Summary
HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Location: Loughborough
Basic Salary: £43,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available
Extras: 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (option to buy 4 more), overtime paid at time and a half, double pay on Sundays, private healthcare, pension, and more
Our client is looking for a talented and efficient HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic with industry-standard qualifications to join their leading team. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs, ensuring all work meets the highest safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic:
• Perform detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnose and resolve faults using systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE.
• Accurately complete all compliance documentation.
• Carry out MOT preparations and safety checks.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently while meeting customer expectations.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in industry training, including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW & SAF axle/brake courses.
Skills and Qualifications for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic:
Essential:
• HGV maintenance experience.
• Industry-standard qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ.
Desirable:
• HGV Class 1 driving licence.
• IRTEC accreditation.
• EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO).
• Welding certification.
• Training or experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST).
• Tail lift maintenance experience.
