An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join a newly established Physical Health Therapies service within the acute mental health and transitional care wards of Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey divisions.

This role could be ideal for an experienced Physiotherapist looking to further develop their clinical skills in complex case management and contribute to trust wide staff education and service development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

This innovative role involves working collaboratively with the physical health and multidisciplinary teams to build an effective, evidence-based service that integrates physical health interventions into mental health pathways.

The Physical Health Therapies service delivers Physiotherapy, alongside Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics and Podiatry through Service Level Agreements. The team works in partnership with colleagues across the North London NHS Foundation Trust to provide holistic care for adult service users.

We welcome an experienced Physiotherapist with a broad clinical background, particularly inmusculoskeletal, general rehabilitation and fitness training, to bring valuable expertise to this role.

The post holder will be a key member of the Physical Health Therapies service, providing specialist physiotherapy expertise to adults with mental health conditions. Key responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualized treatment plans. This will encompass the management of service users with acute physical health needs, including falls prevention and fracture management.

The post holder will deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education. They will facilitate smooth discharge planning by optimizing service users' physical function and independence, and promote physical activity to support community reintegration.

The post holder will collaborate effectively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and contribute to the development of service pathways. They will participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of local clinical guidelines.

The post holder will maintain professional development, participate in staff meetings, and effectively communicate with service users, carers, and other healthcare professionals.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
