Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work alongside our highly skilled teaching team in our Woodland Unit, an enhanced provision for children with complex needs. This role will involve providing specialist support and interventions within the unit and the wider classroom setting, as part of an integrated education programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess bespoke interventions to individuals and groups, based on the children's SEND Support Plans
Develop individual and group learning programmes to respond to current and future needs
Work independently to deliver, monitor, and evaluate the success of educational plans for children within the unit
Keep detailed records on progress and concerns to support the review process and Statutory Assessment
Produce written reports on individual children's progress as directed
Liaise with the SENDCo regarding the progress and future needs of children in the unit
Create a positive working environment that is conducive to effective learning for children with SEND
Develop purposeful homework/home play activities as part of the overall support package
Requirements:
Specialist skills and knowledge at an advanced level in the area of SEND
Experience in planning, resourcing, delivering, monitoring, and reviewing progress for children with SEND
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to continuous professional development
