About Our Service:

Do you want to make a difference to people in Dumfries and Galloway through rehabilitation, enablement and independent advice and support services?

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader who will support our Service Manager in delivering building-based and community-based services across the region.

Our service supports people to engage in employment, education, volunteering and activities of their choice in their communities. To do this Capability Scotland provides:

Wrap-around rehabilitation service for people with an Acquired Brain Injury
Community facilitation service for people with physical disabilities
Self-directed support brokerage and payroll service.
Life skills work for young people with learning disabilities
As an experienced social care practitioner, you will ensure that our people receive exceptional, person-centered support by being responsible for:

Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of community-based facilitation services for people with a physical disability
Coordinating and developing the community brokerage service that provides independent advice and support to those accessing Self Directed Support
Staff management, supervision, recruitment and development
Managing, coordinating and supporting customer activities
Liaising with families, health and care professionals and social workers
Working in partnership with the finance and social work team in supporting self-directed support packages.
What you need to know:

Hours – 35 hours per week

Example Shifts - Monday – Friday: 7.5 hours, 08.30-1630

Location - Compass House, Afton Drive, Dumfries, DG2 9ES (with travel)

Driving licence and access to vehicle essential due to travel requirements of the role.

Experience/qualifications/key skills required:

Experience of working in a similar role and environment is desirable as is a willingness to take on any personal development opportunities. You should have a care related SVQ Level 4, or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale. You should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
