Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the busy Risk and Insurance Team.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Processing and investigating insurance claims made against the Council, making recommendations on liability and settlement and relaying these to claimants.
• Providing assistance in ensuring that the Council has adequate insurance cover in place for its assets and liabilities.
• Supporting the delivery of the Council’s risk management arrangements.

This role is designated as a Home Worker in accordance with the Council’s agile working policy although there will be occasions when attendance at sites / offices throughout Blaenau Gwent are required for the purpose of site visits, attending on witnesses with solicitors or team meetings.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of and the ability to apply the law and procedures relating to liability claims. Knowledge of or a willingness to learn about the principles of insurance and risk management is also essential.
