You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click "Apply now" to view in Trac OperationalWork both independently and as part of a team to provide complex photographic and specialist imaging support to the Cardiff and Vale UHB through: Conventional digital photography / video Fluorescein and ICG angiography Optical coherence tomography (angiography) Optos widefield, Anterior segment photography and new emerging technologies May be required to undertake routine and advanced clinical photography and video assignments, to support patient care, teaching and research across all sites in Cardiff and Vale UHB. Make informed decisions about the deployment of staff, sometimes at short notice. To support teaching and research activities of the Cardiff & Vale UHB.Monitor completed work of the team to make sure, that high standards are maintained. CommunicationEnsure patients understand why photographs / scans / video are being requested, the process of consent to clinical imaging and how the images may be used. Advise clients, from all levels, on the most appropriate use of photography / imaging / video techniques and resources. Supporting and facilitating clients access to and use of ophthalmic images. Maintain expertise in ophthalmic imaging and be aware of technological advancements that may benefit future services. With the Head of Photography and the rest of the team, develop and implement protocols for photography / scanning / video and workflow, including research projects. Assist the Head of Photography in the forward planning, development and promotion of the Service as a whole. Contribute to the effective day to day running of the department, assist in the development of good working practices and help to support other members of the team. AdministrationUndertake day-to-day management of stock levels. Maintain accurate work records and contribute to the auditing of these records. Ensure the cost-effective use of all UHB resources. Supervision and TrainingOversee the working of qualified and trainee Clinical Photographers, to manage resources and organise priorities in daily and weekly work-flow to meet clients needs. Supports, trains and develops junior / less experienced staff to ensure they are competent and proficient in the requirements of the ophthalmic imaging service. Provide on-job training to Trainee Clinical Photographers, liaising closely with the Programme Manager of the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Photography, Head of Photography and the other Senior Photographers, in developing, monitoring and evaluating the Trainees progress and performance.
