Summary

We are looking for someone, who has particular skills in sculpture, ceramics, architecture, design or photography if you believe you have the ability to maximise our children’s creative experiences while using a wide range of media that encourages ideas, questions and self-expression then this is the perfect role for you!
A Resident Artist is an Early Years Educator/Practitioner with a background in arts. They will be responsible for working with children to introduce new concepts, sparking their curiosity and creativity and establishing a new explorative way of learning and will work closely with the Leadership Team to promote the philosophies of Atelier Nursery. The Resident Artist will take a lead in observing and documenting the learning processes that have been carried out by the children which are then shared to parent via an online learning journal.
The role entails:
• Working with children on creative experiences using a wide variety of media to encourage ideas, exploration and questions.
• Helping children express themselves in as many ways possible.
• Teaching new skills to staff and children.
• Being a “key person” for a group of children, ensuring that their care and development needs are being met.
• Producing display documentation, booklets and films on projects and learning experiences that happen in the nursery.
• Creating an aesthetic environment in the Studio and influencing the whole environment in the nursery
• Collecting images, books, interesting objects, intelligent materials for the nursery and sharing how to use them.
