Summary
The Best Connection are looking for an Operations Manager for an exciting opportunity in Leyland, Moss Side.
Overall Purpose:
Warehouse Operations - senior on-site manager to facilitate the efficient management of inventory / stock, customer order fulfilment, logistics and employee management.
Business Operations - delivery of key business projects including (but not limited to) product certification and international trade regulatory compliance.
Job Description:
This role is crucial for maintaining exceptional standards of customer service, health and safety, regulatory compliance, productivity, and quality control while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
- Leadership presence and on-site senior manager.
- Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Manage and train warehouse and packing teams, providing guidance, coaching and support to enhance team performance.
- Manage team in line with all Company health and safety and HR Policies maintaining accurate records in Avensure PeopleCloud.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, order fulfilment, and accurate record-keeping.
- Implement best practice for storage and retrieval of goods to maximise space utilisation whilst adhering to and prioritising health and safety.
- Coordinate and manager suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of the warehouse to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Regularly review and update operational policies and processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency and best practice.
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance metrics, identifying and implementing areas for improvement.
- Where capacity allows, support the sales department with orders when they are busy.
- Support the Directors in delivering the business strategy by delivering the assigned Business Project Plan tasks and activities within agreed timescales.
- To lead on the delivery of product certification in line with industry guidelines
- To lead on international trading and shipping regulatory compliance
- To maintain and keep abreast of industry and technical developments and trends and to bring these into the business for strategic review
- To be innovative in seeking improvements including using best practice from other businesses / industries / countries
- To take product ownership of PeopleHR, Rota Cloud and Confluence to ensure these systems and HR best practice are embedded within the business
