Stroud High School is an Outstanding (Ofsted Nov 23), 21st Century girls’ grammar school with a coeducational Sixth Form. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a community of like-minded staff committed to preparing bright and able students with the skills, knowledge and character to make a difference in the world. It is an environment where you can develop your professional expertise and join a school which achieved State Secondary School of the Year, South West (Sunday Times – Parent Power, 2025).An exciting digital strategy is central to the school’s current development priorities. We are currently in the initial stages of moving to a device-per-student provision across the school. September 2024 saw the start of our device-per-student provision, with Year 12 adopting a 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD) provision, which allows both students and teachers to use Microsoft OneNote to deliver resources digitally and to complete work. From September 2025, Year 8 will be the first-year group from KS3 and KS4 to start the school-managed device per student provision. We then plan to roll it out to Year 8 each year thereafter until all year groups from 8 to 13 are working from devices. KS3 and KS4 students will work using a school-managed 2-in-1 Windows touchscreen laptop device with stylus that allows for the screen to be flipped back into tablet mode. Students will use this device in lessons as their digital exercise book and will complete work by writing on the screen using their stylus and typing their answers using the physical keyboard.
As part of this this move to a device per student provision we are looking to appoint a new permanent Digital Support Technician to grow our existing Network Team.
