About the role

The Senior Arboricultural Officer shall

Manage the delivery of projects, such as the surveying of the Council’s entire tree stock during 2025
Manage the maintenance of the Council’s tree stock in a safe, affordable and efficient way
Write reports, and formulate policies and strategies
Lead on Tenders
Manage contractors
Manage Health & Safety for service area
Manage tree planting
Manage funding applications
Manage the tree database
Supervise one Arboricultural Officer

About you

We are looking for someone who is certified to level 4 in arboriculture, with a Lantra tree Inspection qualification and preferably a degree in Forestry management
With good working knowledge on legislation and best practices on tree management
Has an established network of contacts within the sector
Has previous experience in funding applications and tree planting
And can manage tenders, projects, and contractors
