Summary
Job Title: Workshop Facilitator – Music and Movement / Drama / TACPAC
Location: Oak Tree Life Skills CIC, Oaktree Drive, Clacton on Sea, Essex,CO15 2DN
Hours: Minimum of 30 Hours per week
Hourly Rate: The minimum rate of pay is £11.44 per hour. A higher rate may be offered, depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and creative Workshop Facilitator to design and lead engaging music and movement / Drama / TACPAC workshops for adults with physical, sensory, and learning impairments. The ideal candidate will use music, rhythm, and movement to foster self-expression, build confidence, and promote physical and emotional well-being in a supportive, inclusive environment.
1. Workshop Delivery:
o Plan and facilitate interactive music and movement / drama workshops tailored to the needs and abilities of participants with a range of disabilities.
o Use adaptive techniques and tools to ensure workshops are inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all.
o Create a welcoming, fun, and supportive environment that encourages creativity and participation.
2. Planning and Adaptation:
o Develop creative session plans that incorporate rhythm, singing, instrument use, and movement activities.
o Adapt workshops to suit the physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities of each group or individual participant.
o Use accessible materials, including sensory props, percussion instruments, and visual aids.
3. Participant Engagement and Support:
o Build positive relationships with participants, fostering trust and confidence.
o Encourage self-expression through music and movement, while being sensitive to individual needs and preferences.
o Provide one-on-one support where necessary, with an understanding of each participant’s abilities and goals.
4. Collaboration:
o Work closely with support staff, caregivers, and other professionals to tailor workshops to meet participants’ specific needs.
o Communicate effectively with families, guardians, and care teams regarding workshop outcomes and participant progress.
5. Monitoring and Reporting:
o Monitor and evaluate the impact of workshops, collecting feedback from participants and caregivers.
o Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and participant progress.
o Provide reports on workshop outcomes as required by the organization.
6. Health and Safety:
o Ensure a safe and accessible environment for all participants.
o Follow organizational safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.

Essential Requirements
1. Experience:
o Proven experience facilitating music and movement or drama based workshops / classes ideally with individuals with disabilities.
o Experience working with adults with physical, sensory, and learning impairments.
2. Skills:
o Strong musical skills (e.g., singing, playing an instrument, or knowledge of rhythm techniques).
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse needs.
o Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging and inclusive activities.
3. Knowledge:
o Understanding of the challenges and needs of individuals with physical, sensory, and learning impairments.
o Awareness of safeguarding practices and promoting dignity and inclusion.
4. Attributes:
o Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
o Flexibility to adapt to individual and group needs.
5. Qualifications:
o Relevant qualifications in music, dance, drama, education, or therapy (preferred but not essential).
o Training in working with individuals with disabilities or in inclusive arts practice is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Makaton, British Sign Language (BSL), or other communication tools.
• Experience using technology.
• Experience in a similar role.
