Summary
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Team Leader for our client based in Salfords, Crawley. This is a permanent position.
Job Title: Pick and Despatch Team Leader
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 9:30 PM (subject to change, potentially extending later).
Salary: £32,000 - £33,900 per annum
Job Purpose: To lead the pick and despatch team in achieving accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfilment. The role ensures inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service, supporting the companys goals of customer satisfaction and operational success. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of pickers and despatch personnel. Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews to drive individual and team improvements. Order Fulfilment: Oversee the picking and dispatch operations to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Monitor daily targets and resolve issues promptly to maintain performance standards. Operational KPIs: Track key performance indicators such as error rates, productivity, and on-time despatch rates. Implement corrective measures for underperformance and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to health and safety regulations, creating a safe working environment. Address potential hazards immediately to prevent accidents. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance team skills and competency levels. Foster a culture of learning and improvement within the team. Process Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operations and reduce errors. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock handling and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Customer Care, Inventory, and Purchasing, to optimise operations. Essential Skills and Experience: Leadership experience (2-3 years in a supervisory role). Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes. Commitment to health and safety protocols. Ability to lead, train, and develop teams effectively. Desirable Skills: Certifications in leadership or warehouse operations. Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and cost management.
