Summary
Contract Type: Temporary, for three years in the first instance
Working Hours: Part time, the Audit Committee will meet between four and six times a year. Meetings will last for up to three hours and there will be additional training and briefing sessions that members are required to attend.
Salary: GMCA Audit Committee - £1,715 Per Annual
Location: Meetings will usually be in-person and in a Manchester city centre venue.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s (GMCA) Audit Committee to proactively promote good governance and effective control. We are seeking to appoint two independent members for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s (GMCA) Audit Committee.

The Audit Committee provides independent assurance to the Combined Authority on the effectiveness of the Authority’s governance, financial management, risk management and internal control arrangements. It provides a key role in providing constructive challenge across the organisation and it approves GMCA’s financial statements.
For this position, you should be able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically, analyse information and to question effectively, have effective interpersonal skills, and have high standards of personal integrity.
As an independent member you will be working to provide apolitical and independent support to ensure that there are effective governance arrangements in place alongside strong public financial management, robust internal control environment and appropriate risk management arrangements.
