Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the cardiac division pharmacy team to support a new specialist lipid optimisation project being set up by MFT. A new clinic aims to review all post MI/ACS patients to ensure their lipid therapy is being optimised. The post holder will provide an independent review of lipid therapy and provide recommendations to changes in therapy and help to reduce health inequalities across this patient population.
Post MI patients are currently discharged back to their GP for follow up, and data shows a lipid review is only occuring in around a level of 30-40% of patients. As such, this equates to approximately 60-70% of patients from Greater Manchester not reaching their LDL-C target of
