Job Purpose:

The ASSIST Administrator Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the ASSIST service from the office base in Stafford. The postholder will work closely with the ASSIST Project Co-ordinator, Sensory Support Co-ordinators, and a fellow Assistant Sensory Support Co-ordinator to develop, organise and support post-16 services for individuals with sensory impairments. This role provides an opportunity to gain specialist knowledge and skills related to sensory impairments and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the ASSIST service, ensuring efficient office operations.

Assist in the development and organisation of post-16 work delivered by the service.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective communication and service coordination.

Retrieve, manipulate, and analyse financial data to produce reports and statistics.

Maintain records and documentation in accordance with Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders.

Support the use and implementation of specialist access technology for individuals with sensory impairments.

Ensure compliance with the Equality Act and NHS Accessible Information Standard in service delivery.

Manage and prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines and service requirements.

Provide translation and transcription services as required.

Utilise various ICT systems, including MS Office and CAPITA Integra finance system.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships:

NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or working towards this qualification.

ICT qualification equivalent to ECDL competency level.

RSA 2 Touch Typing skills or equivalent.

CACDP Notetaking Level 2 or equivalent, or working towards.

Experience and Knowledge:

Experience working with or supporting individuals with sensory impairments, including providing translation/transcription services.

Awareness and experience in the use of specialist access technology.

Knowledge of Financial Regulations, Contract Standing Orders, and relevant legislation.

Understanding of the implications of the Equality Act and NHS Accessible Information Standard for service users.

Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal departments and external agencies.

Experience managing and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.

Skills and Competencies:

High proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office and CAPITA Integra finance system.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven influencing ability.

Strong organisational skills with a commitment to delivering customer-focused solutions.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.

Additional Information:

This post is designated as a casual car user, and travel may be required as part of the role.
