The Museum welcomes over 185,000 visitors each year these are made up of members of the public, Brooklands Members, VIPs, corporate hospitality guests and school groups.

We have ambitious plans to fulfil our vision: Inspiring people to shape the future through Brooklands’ history of innovation and endeavour. As we are a visitor attraction, our priority is delivering a memorable and inspiring experience for all visitors and ensuring we meet our commitment of ‘Brooklands at its best, every day’. So, no matter what role you join us in, you will have a very important part to play in this.

We are currently looking for Casual Museum Assistants to join our Front of House team in readiness for our exciting 2025 season, to support us during our busy operational periods and our event days.

Whilst as a Casual Museum Assistant there are no set days, our busiest times are generally weekends and holiday periods. We will contact you when we have a need for cover and you tell us if you are free and available to support. We are a 7-day visitor experience so hours will include weekends, some evenings and public holidays, including New Year’s Day. Some event days may require an early start/late finish.

About the Role

As part of the Visitor Experience Team, you will report to our Admissions and Retail Manager and play your part to ensure that the Museum consistently provides a high-quality experience to all.

Museum Assistants work flexibly across the Museum supporting a wide range of museum activities. Although much of your day will be spent on front of house activities - providing a warm welcome to all visitors, providing orientation to the site with suggestions of things visitors might like to see and do and selling merchandise in our different shop locations, you may also be needed to help with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks including helping out with administration, supporting event set up (moving barriers and putting out signage) and supporting our volunteers.

You are the face of the museum for our visitors and will be the first and maybe the last team of people our visitors will see! Your interactions with our visitors can really make someone’s visit special. With knowledge and enthusiasm, you will help visitors to find their way around our collections, share stories and facts about the Museum to help every visitor understand ‘it happened here at Brooklands’ and help us deliver ’an incredible day out’ every day.

We are looking for confident communicators with a “can do” attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for visitors.
