Summary


We are looking for an experienced Children’s Speech and Language Therapist to cover a maternity leave within our Complex Needs team, which includes social communication. The role will involve the delivery of social communication assessments and interventions with early years aged children and the delivery of training to parents/carers and colleagues. You will be part of a well-established and experienced group of SLTs, and the role will be based within clinic and home settings in Salford.

Salford Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service provide CPD, supervision, support and mentoring from a range of experienced SLTs across the service. You will be part of a large, friendly, supportive team who are passionate about ensuring that all children and families receive appropriate and timely therapeutic and preventative interventions that aim to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Due to the nature of the post you will need to be able to travel to different sites as required by the service.

• Working collaboratively with parents/carers and setting staff to support children with social communication differences.
• To produce reports outlining the finding of the assessments and child/young person's needs and next steps (including for statutory purposes, e.g. EHCP assessments).
• Delivering interventions and modelling strategies.
• Demonstrating clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence based practice and outcome measures.
• Supporting the development and delivery of training packages to parents/carers and setting staff
