Summary

The Supervisor will manage the delivery of administrative, technical and business processes supporting a comprehensive range of HR and financial activities; including HR contractual processes and related correspondence, pay administration and information management. Effectively manage a team of administration staff, to ensure all aspects of the service are delivered in accordance with agreed standards, objectives and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

Leading, managing, training and developing a team of staff undertaking specialised administrative and technical processes and procedures

Undertaking complex checking, evaluation, calculations and information processing.
Advising on and applying policies, practices procedures and statutory regulations as they relate to terms and conditions of employment

Responding to non-routine and complex enquiries from a wide range of contacts, ensuring the advice is consistently given in accordance with agreed policies, statutory legislation and within defined procedures

Liaise, as appropriate, with staff and managers from other Departments (e.g. HR Departments and ASDVs) to ensure an effective interface on all collaborative processes (e.g. recruitment, contractual, payroll, DBS, legal and pay issues) is achieved and effective communication channels are utilised effectively

Support the service in delivering projects to the business including input into specifications, project plans, design and user acceptance testing focussing on technology and business processes

Liaise, advise and negotiate with employees, managers, external clients, and other relevant parties, including ASDVs and external agencies, on issues arising from the day to day operation of the team and take remedial action where necessary to ensure continuity of service and high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained

Conduct investigations and research responses to queries, complaints or service incidents and issues as requested so that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained
Profile:

Demonstrable record of excellent performance in leading a team

Have a high level of numerical literacy

Have the ability and willingness to study towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g.CIPP)

Comprehensive use of and experience of Unit 4 HR and Payroll and of delivering timely and accurate pay services and associated activities
Strong organisation and change management skills

Experience of managing staff including allocating and monitoring workloads; appraisals and performance management

Comprehensive working knowledge and experience of policy interpretation, business procedures, employment law, statutory legislation and pension scheme regulations.

A complete understanding of customer care principles and practices
