Summary

Masstemps are currently recruiting for a skilled TIG Welder to join our busy and expanding manufacturing client based in Worcester. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding, particularly with TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) techniques, and will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components to meet precise specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties

Perform TIG welding on various materials such as aluminium, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Assemble and fabricate sheet metal components using power tools and hand tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the necessary welding processes.
Maintain equipment in good working order, performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Utilise basic maths skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements accurately.
Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the welding process.

Requirements

Proven experience in TIG welding; additional experience in stick welding is advantageous.
Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques.
Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools related to welding tasks.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on producing quality work.
Good mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
Commitment to safety practices within the workplace.

Hours of work:
Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with 1pm finish on friday.

Rate of pay:
£14-£15 per hour- shift allowance included in this rate.
