About The Team:

SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is a specialist higher education institution delivering tertiary education, research and consultancy. SRUC’s principal purpose is to advance education, science, research, and environmental protection and improvement in rural and land-based industries, both domestically and internationally.

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a student support tutor to join the friendly student support team at SRUC Barony.

The successful post-holder will provide high quality proactive, and when required, reactive student support services – to taught / research students and prospective students, as applicable. They will provide and have experience in educational, pastoral and funding support in the HE/FE sector.

Main Responsibilities :-

  • To assess educational support needs of students, then identify and provide appropriate support for the needs identified.
  • To provide student finance-related support to ensure accurate and relevant information is available to all (e.g. funding options, eligibility, entitlement, applying for funding etc).
  • To work proactively with students (both groups and individuals) to help maintain and improve physical and mental well-being.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF Level 9 in a relevant subject and/or have a relevant professional qualification(s) and/or significant relevant experience.

    Eligibility for Sponsorship:

    This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
