Summary
Are you ready to be part of the Shorebase team, introducing a wide variety of clients to an exciting range of water activities at both our Ladyburn lake facility and the beautiful Amble estuary, Northumberland
Seasonal Trainee Watersports Instructors & Hires Assistants Required.
Start Date: From 01/03/ /2025
Through to: 30/09/2025 with option to return in April 2026
. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to obtain and work towards NGB qualifications such as:
• First aid training and certification
• Safeguarding training and certificate
• RYA Powerboat level 2 and Safety boat certificate
• RYA instructor awards, dinghy and windsurfing
• British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor award
Specialist personal PPE provided
Plus, the free use of Centre equipment when not on duty!
The Company: Coquet Shorebase Trust operates from both Druridge Bay Country park and the Braid, Amble. Key Requirements for the Role:
Essential
• Passion for the Water. A genuine desire to share your enthusiasm for water-based activities.
• Interpersonal Skills. Strong communication, customer service skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of participants.
• Team Collaboration. An ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
• A desire to learn, develop and to grow into the role
• A ‘can do’ attitude, well organised and an ability to use your own initiative to identify what needs to be done.
Desirable
• GSCE Math's and English
• RYA/British Canoeing personal proficiency certification
• A recognized First Aid qualification
• Experience in a similar role, or demonstratable transferable skill sets and experience
• NGB instructor or coaching qualification (British Canoeing, RYA Instructor etc)
• IT/computer literate
• Experience in working with children in a club or sports setting is advantageous.

All staff are required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
