We are looking for a Senior Product Strategist to work within Working Age Services including Universal Credit to drive the Labour Market Strategy for the many millions of users who rely on the service to support their search for work or improve their opportunities in the labour market.

As a Senior Product Strategist, you will be involved in a range of activities to support the achievement of the vision for the service. You will provide leadership and direction to all products within the service, whilst supporting the high-level roadmap. You be a senior part of the product strategy team to deliver high quality products supporting the aims and objectives of the service.

As an expert leader and manager, you will lead the development of problem statements for complex issues affecting your service and facilitate solutions with wide range of stakeholders, including senior operational colleagues and ministerial teams. This needs you to work very closely with product managers to help them achieve the outcomes.

The role will need you to:

  • Work with product managers to develop the overall strategy for the service and work alongside Senior Civil Service colleagues to understand the minister's vision and needs
  • Provide leadership and direction to the product strategy team, working with product managers to shape the vision, scope and high-level roadmap
  • Co-ordinate development across multiple products to support the overall strategy for the service
  • Manage product strategists within the product team to support their professional development and career progression
  • Build and maintain a relationship with 3rd party providers, seeking to capitalise on the value-add offerings when appropriate
  • Co-ordinate product strategy across your service to ensure whole service strategic aims are understood and met
  • Introduce tools and artefacts for the product strategy community to use, to ensure commonality of approach
  • Lead discussion on the product strategy in your service both within the product team and the wider department
  • Represent the product strategy for your service with leads from other products to ensure a sharing of ideas and approaches
