Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Yewlands Academy is an inclusive, 11 – 16, comprehensive academy in Grenoside on the northern edge of Sheffield. A popular academy, we have over 900 students including above average numbers eligible for pupil premium support and with SEND.
The Academy is one of a close community of academies within the Brigantia Learning Trust and focused on changing life chances and securing social mobility and justice for those in our community. Social cohesion and a strong moral purpose underpins our approach. We intend to break the link between context and achievement. As pioneers of 2 – 19 education within Sheffield, our vision is focused on creating excellence together, through a culture of care.
At the heart of this is bold leadership, high quality teaching and learning and a relentless drive for excellence. Our new Principal will lead this at Yewlands. Our recent Ofsted confirms that we have a firm foundation to build upon, however, there is always more to do. You will have the support of the Trust but also the freedom to operate as an empowered Principal. Our young people deserve the very best.
An energetic and emotionally intelligent leader, you will have a track record of leading improvement. You may be an experienced Headteacher or Principal who is looking for a new challenge. Alternatively, you may feel ready to step up to a role at this level. Either way, you will share our values. Leading others and engendering followership will be a key strength and will set you apart.
What the school offers its staff
We care deeply about delivering the highest quality of education. Our culture, values and vision are critically important. If you can’t subscribe to these, this is not the role for you. If you can, then we encourage you to engage with us. Get in touch or download full details through the link www.pentir.com/roles/yewlands.
