Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sociology lessons to students aged 11-18.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and understanding.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the sociology curriculum.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Sociology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching sociology at the secondary school level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- A master's degree in Sociology or Education.
- Experience with extracurricular activities related to sociology (e.g., debate clubs, social research projects).
- Familiarity with educational technology and online teaching platforms.
