The role
As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll support the provision of new facilities and capabilities, as well as the operation of existing and lead the Engineering Delivery team in support of the provision of a new out of water submarine maintenance facility.

Day-to-day, you'll lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of design and safety projects, in accordance with business priorities.

  • Lead the production and co-ordination of design and safety artefacts in accordance with the design intent, including management of the configuration to form the reference design
  • Undertake the day-to-day management of several Design Managers, each of whom is tasked with managing the delivery of the technical elements of projects in accordance with the company Business Management System
  • Provide technical and project delivery guidance to your teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure safe and efficient delivery
  • Manage proposed deviations from the reference design during design development
  • Define, establish and maintain a team capacity that is sufficiently resourced and capable of delivering the business demand forecast in line with agreed budgets

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Engineering Delivery Manager

  • Significant experience in design management within large scale multidiciplinary projects
  • Experience in the civil or militarty UK nuclear industry is highly desirable.
  • Knowelge of submarines or dockyard experience is desirable.

Qualifications for the Engineering Delivery Manager

  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant experience; you'll also be registered as a Chartered Engineer, and probably a Fellow of your institute.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
