We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Soft Landscaping Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate and competitive estimates, working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the successful tendering of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Tendering & Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for soft landscaping projects, including turfing, planting, soil preparation, and irrigation. Accurately measure and quantify materials and labour using Bluebeam or equivalent takeoff software. Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project requirements and potential risks. Obtain competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost efficiency. Prepare and present tender submissions with a clear breakdown of costs and justifications.
Project Coordination:
Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify project scope and requirements. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure accurate material pricing and availability. Assist in project handovers by providing detailed cost breakdowns and methodology to the operational team.
Cost Control & Value Engineering:
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Provide value engineering solutions to clients and stakeholders where possible.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
Stay up to date with industry pricing, trends, and suppliers. Regularly report on estimation accuracy and suggest improvements to estimating processes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in estimating within the soft landscaping or construction industry. Proficiency in Bluebeam or equivalent takeoff software (e.g., Planswift, AutoCAD, Trimble). Strong understanding of soft landscaping materials, techniques, and industry standards. Excellent numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients and suppliers effectively. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
