Quantity Surveyor
An award winning top ten house builder seeks to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team based in Cheshire.
Quantity Surveyor - The Company
The company are one of the country's largest privately owned house builders delivering high quality homes across the North West and Midlands region. The majority of their developments are built on brownfield sites, transforming existing buildings and disused land into well-designed, energy-efficient homes ranging from starter homes to luxury family homes.
Quantity Surveyor - The Role
Due to an increase in workload they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their offices based in Cheshire. Reporting to a Commercial Director you will be responsible for cost control of 3-4 housing developments. You will be involved in developments from the initial land appraisal stages and having responsibility for cost management for the duration of the development until the conclusion of subcontract final accounts. Duties will include:
- Maintain budget control
- Produce accurate bi-monthly valuations
- Procure sub-contractors, goods and materials
- Payment approvals and processing
- Prepare valuation reports
- Liaise with site team and sub-contractors
- Provide support to the commercial department
Quantity Surveyor - Skills & Experience required
- Experience within the house building sector
- HND or Degree qualified
- Ability to form strong working relationships
- Effective organisation and team working skills
- Good planning and time management skills
- IT skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
