Job Description
Greatfield Park Primary School is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to help maintain our school premises to a high standard. This part-time role is vital to ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and Closing: Unlock and secure the premises at the beginning and end of each day.
General Maintenance: Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring the school is in good working order.
Health and Safety Checks: Regularly inspect the premises for hazards, reporting and addressing any issues.
Cleaning Duties: Support with cleaning and tidying communal areas, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces, as needed.
Waste Management: Ensure bins are emptied, and waste is disposed of appropriately.
Stock Management: Monitor and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Support School Events: Provide assistance with setting up and dismantling equipment or furniture for school activities.
Requirements
Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
A proactive and flexible attitude, with good attention to detail.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, such as lifting and moving furniture or equipment.
Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
An enhanced DBS check is essential (this will be arranged if not already held).
