Summary
The role involves supporting the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team through a range of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinically, the individual will independently carry out tasks such as setting up Videofluoroscopy clinics, obtaining parental consent, delivering therapy interventions, and contributing to therapy program planning. They are also responsible for developing materials like parent information leaflets and managing stock therapy resources. The role requires adherence to departmental protocols and professional conduct, as well as providing support and guidance to less experienced assistants. In terms of office administration, the individual will handle clerical duties such as ordering equipment, managing patient information, filing, and liaising with other team members. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting the use of department systems, and ensuring confidentiality. Communication is key, as the individual will engage with parents, professionals, and medical staff, providing updates and addressing concerns. Additionally, they will assist in creating resources and ensuring all correspondence meets Trust standards. The role demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage workloads independently, and participation in team meetings.
