Summary

Laboratory technician Portbury Docks Bristol BS20 7NZ

£12.40 per hour Monday - Friday 08:00-16:00

Key Responsibilities:

  • To analyse any of the samples normally dealt with by the Laboratory including internal checks and analysis of standards. Such analyses may be made using chemical and physical-chemical techniques and where appropriate the procedure to be followed for a given analysis will have to be decided.
  • To work to the highest standards of Safety, Hygiene, discipline and performance as defined by Laboratory Procedures.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area, refilling reagent bottles before they are empty and preparing new reagent and standard solutions for instrumentation.
  • To maintain adequate records of work done and results obtained, reporting the latter promptly and drawing attention to unexpected features to Management.
  • To monitor the daily operation of instruments, making minor adjustments etc as required and drawing Management's attention to any untoward occurrences.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Communication & Knowledge Sharing.
  • Drive & Determination.
  • Eye for detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or Laboratory environment.
  • Desirable but not essential "A" Level science or degree in related subject.
