Summary
Al Arqam is a registered charity offering educational services for youth and adult learners of the Holy Qur’an and related sciences in Luton, UK.
An opportunity has arisen for a religious teacher to develop specialist knowledge of Quranic recitation, memorisation and Islamic knowledge to enable a step-change in teaching and learning of these disciplines.
Responsibilities
Devising a comprehensive Tajweed (correct way of reading the Holy Qur’an based on established rules and texts) curriculum based on global best practise which is customised to our learning cohorts.
Preparing and delivering advanced Tajweed lessons to teachers and senior students enabling them to teach recitation and memorisation.
Preparing, delivering and administering lectures for academics and practitioners.
Preparing and delivering Islamic lectures to students, teachers and the wider community to enrich their appreciation of the Holy Qur’an and inspire them in their learning experiences.
Liaising with organisations with similar goals to help nurture positive relationship to deliver related services to wider community
Preparing leaders in the understanding and delivery of specialist Islamic knowledge.
Experience
Must have at least 10 years as a Faith Leader with broad teaching experience.
At least 7 years of teaching Islamic Studies.
Experience in managing classes for all ages and relating to students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Experience in leading salaah and knowledge of related fiqh matters.
Education
Depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a post-graduate level qualification, from a recognised institution or equivalent experience
Post-graduate qualification in Islamic Studies
Advanced knowledge of Tajweed
Essential Criteria
Fluent in Arabic and English Language
Advanced Diploma/Post Graduate in Islamic Studies
Skills
IT literate
Native Arabic speaker (fluent in reading/writing/speaking)
Proficient in Reading/Writing/Speaking in English
Experience as an Imam and Khateeb leading salaah to diverse, large audiences
