Summary

Job Description

The Dundee and Angus Out of Hours Service is responsible for responding to requests in relation to the whole spectrum of Social Work Service including services for children and vulnerable adults who are in need or at risk of harm. The team also has a key role in the implementation of any civil emergency procedures and is the first point of contact for all Social Work business outwith normal office hours.

Based at Seymour House, 274 Clepington Road, you will undertake rostered duties out with normal working hours (including weekends, evenings and public holidays). You will work part time, 30 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have a degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS (with appropriate option).
You will have post-qualifying training in Child Protection or Adult Support and Protection.

Responsibilities

You will contribute to the Out of Hours service by undertaking rostered duties and assist the Duty Co-ordinator in receiving, assessing and responding to all calls for an Out of Hours Social Work service for Dundee City and Angus Council.

The Individual

You will have post qualifying experience in: Child Care, CP Investigations and Assessment; collaborative working and also have knowledge of relevant legislation.

You will have excellent assessment skills, confidence in your Social Work role, along with good written and oral communication, crisis management and negotiating skills.

You will be non judgemental, motivated and enthusiastic, team orientated and supportive to colleagues. You will be willing to undertake additional training.

A full current driving licence is required.

You must be able to register with the SSSC within a specified timescale.

This post is considered regulated work with adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
