Job description
Support Worker
Make a difference in the life of someone with sight and hearing loss by becoming a BSL Support Worker.
We’re looking for two part-time Support Worker to build relationships and trust with our customers to help them to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Deafblind UK aims to support choice and reduce isolation for deafblind people in the UK. As our Support Worker you’ll be helping our customers with their individual needs according to their support plan, adapting how you work to the needs of each customer. Using BSL or clear speech, you’ll help our customers act independently within their local community and support them with daily tasks like shopping, life admin, health appointments, personal finance and the use of technology.
Key responsibilities
Implement an adaptable support plan for each customer according to their needs
Use BSL or clear speech to help with day-to-day activities as well as personal care tasks
Promote the health and wellbeing of the customer at all times
Recognise and adapt the customer’s surrounding environment and support them to be as independent as possible
Qualifications, skills and experience
QCF Level 2 Health & Social Care (or willing to train)
BSL (required)
Experience in a caring role (not essential)
Understanding and experience of safeguarding procedures
Valid driving licence
Ability to commute or relocate to Staffordshire (required)
