Summary
To take blood samples from patients according to protocols, practices and standards required at the request of a qualified medical practitioner. Ensure as far as possible, that all of the information on the request form is correct and any problems are resolved in a timely manner according to FedNet policies and procedures Ensure that blood sample bottles are accurately labelled Checking and maintaining stock of consumables to ensure the smooth running of the service. Observe and maintain a clean and tidy working environment at all times Be responsible for reading and the action of emails Confidentiality In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, FedNet staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the federation as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the federation may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the federation policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data Health & Safety The post-holder will manage their own and others health and safety as defined in the FedNet Health & Safety policy, the Federation Infection Control policy and other published procedures.
