The post holder will participate in the day to day operational management of the service which is responsible for providing an efficient, timely and responsive service to the Trust and GP Practices in order to support a high standard of clinical care to patients.

Our services:

Acute Care

Providing emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.

Primary Care

Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.

Community Services

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

Specialist Regional Services

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

KEY DUTIES
• Responsible for the day to day supervision of all digital health records scanning service staff, ensuring all departmental QA, KPIs and Trust targets are met.
• Maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels adhering to ACE behavioural standards at all times.
• Ensure health records are available in a responsive and timely manner throughout the Trust and to other hospitals as required.
• Assist with in-house process training and development programmes for staff ensuring that all staff are proficient in the application of the Trust’s Management of Health Records Policy and associated procedures and the use of IT systems which support the service delivery to the Trust and GP Practices.
• Ensure the timely delivery of HRS folders to various clinic locations throughout The Trust.
• Responsible for allocation of daily tasks to the team.
• Responsible for the QA of records in relation to SARS/Legal Requests ensuring the GDPR deadlines are met.
• Deal appropriately with all enquiries and requests received from service users e.g. clinical areas, GP Practices.
• Assist with the provision of internal reports to support the health records service delivery.
• Assist with recording and maintaining the departmental daily performance statistics.
• Perform return to work interviews, update staff roster as and when required, carry out staff appraisals in line with Trust policy
• Assist with Health Records destruction in line with national policies both digital and paper records
