Summary

NRL are currently working with a client looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent basis based in the North East.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day quantity surveying duties on assigned contracts. This role involves measurement, procurement, analysis, negotiation, and overseeing projects to ensure they meet commercial deliverables and timescales. You will also play a key role in fostering and mentoring a culture of contractual and commercial awareness within project teams.

Responsibilities:

- General Duties: Commercial overview, oversee allocated projects, ensure compliance with company processes, and ensure contract information is administered correctly and on time.
- Mentoring: Develop commercial behaviours, manage the Quantity Surveying function, and provide commercial support and training to team members of other disciplines.
- Project Delivery: Balance time, cost, and quality, assist co-workers, and promote contractual awareness.
- Commercial Management: Handle full commercial management of projects, budget to build and contract administration, change control, client negotiations, and procurement strategy.
- Operational Decisions: Make effective decisions based on logistics, quality, resources, safety, and profitability.
- Documentation: Prepare and negotiate interim valuations, final accounts, monthly valuations, payment notices, and manage collateral warranties.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, ensure contractual obligations are met, and conduct risk and opportunity analysis.
- Supervision: Assist in the supervision and mentoring of staff, ensuring effective integration of new team members.


Required Qualifications:

- Degree Qualified.
