Learning Mentor in Creative Arts

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Southwark College, part of NCG (Newcastle College Group), a leading national provider of education and training, is looking to recruit a Student Learning Mentor on a fixed term contract until March 2026

You will play a central role in the delivery of group tutorials for study programme students ensuring that learners receive weekly support and activities that encourage motivation and participation.

In this extremely rewarding role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to support vulnerable and at-risk students and deliver group tutorials to learners according to the tutorial scheme of work. This in turn will support learners in developing a sense of self-responsibility and ownership of their learning experience.

To help you achieve this, you will be working as part of a hardworking, passionate and supportive team that is committed to getting the best out of our learners.

You must have sound literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 achievement/ability in English and Maths) and competent IT skills. Experience of working with learners aged 16 to 18 is essential as well as a sound knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and young people.
