Summary
PMB Solutions Ltd is currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in the Tipton area for a Steel Fabricator on a Temp to Perm Position.
Our client is seeking an experienced skilled Structural Steelwork Fabricator to join their fabrication team, reporting to the Workshop Manager.
This role is for day shift work Mon-Friday, but flexible working patterns may be required to meet demanding deadlines.
The role suits candidates who have extensive experience fabricating hot rolled structural steelwork.
Responsibilities
Setting out of structural steel fabrications
Accurately marking up, cut, drill, chamfer, notch, and label steels
Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings.
Profiling of steels using gas and/or saw cutting equipment.
Tack welding / Welding components into position by using the most appropriate welding procedure.
Lifting, turning, and moving heavy structural steel loads with cranes.
Carrying out self-inspection of fabrications & assisting others to do so
Welding duties in accordance with qualifications.
Maintaining a safe working environment by only adopting safe working practices and ensuring that housekeeping is of the highest standard.
Working to production deadlines.
Requirements
Ability to read CAD drawings, lists and works instructions.
Previous experience working in a structural steel work fabricator
Energetic team player with a positive can-do attitude
Able to communicate effectively with the team
