Summary

Nottinghamshire Police is committed to fighting crime, protecting vulnerable people and ensuring our communities feel safe and listened to. This is a great opportunity to safeguard the most vulnerable people in our communities and make a real contribution to delivering an outstanding service we can all be proud of.

MOSOVO is a Multi-Agency arrangement for identifying and managing offenders according to the level of risk of harm that they pose to the public. We work closely with our keys partners that include probation and prisons in keeping the public including previous victims of crime, managing their activities as they rehabilitate into society with the aim of reducing the risk of re-offending whilst taking robust/positive action towards re-offending and breaches of court orders.

The expansion of the internet, together with the use of digital data, and cloud-based storage has provided additional means by which offenders are now committing offences around child/adult sexual abuse, where material can be accessed and distributed.

Legislation has been introduced to combat this form of abuse and with Court Orders allowing pro-activate management of offenders on their orders in preventing and detecting further offending.

We are looking for someone who has investigative experience, ideally with strong focus on data and technology, to work with Investigators, SIO's and Prosecutors on the technological elements of cases and the preparation and presentation of evidence.

To develop, set and maintain Technology and Data Strategies in cases which could include Child Sexual Abuse Material, breaches of Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and Sexual Risk Orders.

The MOSOVO DMI will provide specialist advice and practical support to those managing investigations, and the compliance of Court Orders issues to offenders by gathering intelligence and providing proactive and reactive support to Investigators.

This is a great opportunity to join our MOSOVO team as a Digital Media Investigator working across the County of Nottinghamshire from the two stations of Oxclose Lane and Mansfield, in making a difference in safeguarding our communities, protecting the most vulnerable, supporting the management of offenders in the community and investigating offences.

If you have a good understanding of data and technology, and the skills or experience of working with investigators and safeguarding children, then we want to hear from you.

As the successful applicant, you will attend crime scenes and implement a Digital Strategy to maximise opportunities to identify, examine, preserve, and collect digital evidence relating to criminal offences working with internal and external partners.

You must be highly motivated and demonstrate the flexibility required to work within the dynamic and demanding environment of MOSOVO, and you must be prepared to undergo and attain management level vetting.

Research shows that officers and staff working within MOSOVO are likely to encounter distressing images, situations, and investigations. You will be supported and encouraged to engage with current wellbeing guidance to ensure your own, and your colleagues, wellbeing is maintained.

In return, we offer:

  • a pathway to accreditation as a Digital Media Investigator.
  • the opportunity to work alongside an already accredited and experienced DMI to within the force to support you in your role.
  • outstanding training and learning opportunities and the support to flourish in your role.
  • an open and inclusive culture and workplace with colleagues who share our duty, commitment, priorities and vision.
  • the opportunity to work in an organisation making a difference to our communities and victim of crime
  • excellent pay, generous annual leave, dedicated wellbeing days and pension.
