Gylemuir after school club (Gasc) based in Gylemuir primary school is looking for a support worker / play worker to work with children 4-12 year olds.
The post requires a creative, enthusiastic, cheerful, reliable, responsible and assertive individual who has good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver a varied activity programmes for children aged 4 to 12 years.
The candidate will be working under the guidance of the Manager and Deputy Manager to:
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children after school to enjoy a wide range of play, learning and leisure activities.
• Organise a daily routine that meets the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of the children.
• Work in partnership with parents, carers and professionals in order to promote the wellbeing of the children.
A qualification in childcare is desirable but not essential. Candidates must be willing to work towards a qualification with support from Gasc.
Hours: After school hours during term time the opportunity for additional hours during the holidays working in the holiday clubs
Registration with SSSC and membership of the PVG Scheme will be a requirement for this post - the cost of this will be covered from Gasc.
