Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Engineering Infrastructure team for an individual to join our team as a General support Technician. This team provides a service to the whole faculty, including office moves and set up, IT waste management, IT distribution as well as cover to the wider faculty when the need arises.

We have an experienced, collaborative team of over 120 technical staff, supporting the wider Faculty of Engineering across two of the University campuses. Our technical team work closely with students and staff and engage in a varied portfolio of work across all the University’s engineering disciplines. We believe diverse teams make us stronger. The Role

As Support technician you will contribute to the service provided to the whole faculty. The work you do will support the world changing research and teaching ambitions of the University. You will:

Support with moving items between buildings/ campuses including office moves and setups
Installing whiteboards, AV screens Coat hooks etc within office locations
Issue Laptops out to staff and students, via requests from the computer orders team
Undertake Health and safety checks within the Coates Building
Cover for staff within the Engineering stores when the need arises as well as supporting the wider faculty
Your Experience

good standard of education evidenced by up to five GCSEs (grade C and above) or equivalent, demonstrating numeracy and literacy, with potential for further study where appropriate OR Previous work experience in a relevant role.
A full clean driving licence is essential
Written and verbal communication skills.
Manual dexterity will be required in some roles.
A good level of practical skill i.e. DIY
Basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedures.
General IT knowledge i.e. MS office
