Summary
Job Description
We are looking for a Deputy Head of Lighting who will support the day-to-day delivery and management of all lighting and electrical requirements for Donmar productions and related projects to the highest possible standards. To play a proactive part in the running and operation of the Production Department, the Deputy Head of Lighting will also, in conjunction with colleagues within the department, support effective planning and management of departmental and building maintenance across all Donmar premises. To promote good working practices and uphold the highest professional standards at all times as well as representing the Donmar Warehouse externally within the wider Theatre community.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of working in lighting for live performance in a professional environment.
- Prior full time or freelance experience working in the lighting department of a producing theatre.
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage a team, including in fit ups and get outs.
- Strong and current knowledge of the rigging, operation, maintenance and basic repair of lighting equipment.
- Excellent working knowledge of ETC EOS control desks, networks, and dimmers.
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills on ETC EOS control desks, including experience of programming mid to large-scale productions.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks.
- Strong working knowledge of lighting control protocols (e.g: DMX, MIDI, MSC, OSC, sACN).
- Ability to read, understand and implement technical drawings.
Terms: Permanent, full time
Salary: £34,000 per annum + overtime
