Summary

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm

Location: Cheltenham, GL51 0EX

G4S Facilities Management are recruiting a Head of Security on a full-time, permanent basis based in Cheltenham.



We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to direct and manage the overall delivery of contracted Security deliverables on our Cheltenham Contract, taking responsibility to ensure service performance and compliance, client satisfaction and identifying/developing opportunities for innovation and improvement for both the Client and G4S. Ensuring that the physical security for the site meets contractual and customer requirements



Responsibilities

To lead and develop the Operational Management of the Head Security Officers (HSO), Senior Security Officers (SSOs), Security Officers (SOs) and Standby Security Officers (SSGs)
Monitor the performance of Security Force to ensure adherence to all Security Force Service Level Agreements ensuring they are meeting contractual standards and to carry out internal compliance audits.
To review all contract security operations on an on-going basis and agree any changes with the Director of Services and Client Security.
To oversee the management of all operational security aspects relevant to any on-site special events and high profile visits.
To provide technical security guarding support for any wider portfolio contract bid as requested by G4S Head of Security Services.
To manage personnel and disciplinary matters of the security staff in conjunction with HR staff where necessary
To collate monthly information in respect of overtime, sickness and annual leave and provide as necessary for payroll and HR purposes.
To provide line management support to include the approval of team member annual leave requests ensuring adequate cover to meet contract needs.
To manage monthly health and safety inspections process and ensure risk assessments are in place for all Security Force tasks.
To lead the Employee Development Review process in respect of security staff and work collaboratively with HR in development of EDRs and identifying development needs.
To ensure appropriate levels of employee retention through effective leadership, motivation and development of a talent pipeline through Personal Development Review delivery
Work with HR on recruitment of security staff and promotions within the security team. To be conversant with the G4S Health and Safety Management System and to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and emergency procedures as required
To provide timely reporting and trend analysis across all Security business functions.




The Ideal Candidate:
Essential

Should hold current SIA
Demonstrable experience in a similar role including line management.
Able to work to varying deadlines.
A good knowledge of finance and accounting systems and willingness to attend training courses as required.
Educated to GCSE level or higher.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualified in IOSH Managing Safely.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills.
In-depth knowledge of Security best practices and service delivery standards.
Management experience within the PFI and Healthcare sector.


Desirable

Level 3 Facilities Management qualification.
IOSH certified.
BICs Assessor.
Knowledge of Concept Evolution.
Knowledge of SAP & ARIBA.
