We are delighted to have completed the first phase of our castle opening and our Director of Agronomy Steve Chappell, and our Golf Course Superintendent David Hay prepare for the opening of our newly refurbished 18-hole course later this year with further opportunities within our agronomy team.

As an experienced and qualified Senior Greenkeeper you will be actively involved in the final stages of our ‘growing in’ phase, before being responsible for the smooth running of the course set up operations, together with the wider agronomy team. Being hands on and leading by example you will have a keen eye for detail and be integral to the mentoring, training and development of our greenkeeping team, whilst maintaining the health and appearance of our luxury golf course.

Working closely and proactively communicating with team members across the wide range of facilities, this is a unique role for those who thrive in management and people interaction.

You will be passionate about wanting to deliver the very best golf course maintenance and upkeep for our unique club surrounded by stunning natural scenery!

This role is ideal for an experienced ‘can-do’ Greenkeeper who wants to progress and is prepared to go the extra mile, inspiring and supporting their team and who enjoys coming to work with a smile ready for another great day!

You will be responsible for continuing the course set-up operations by directing the team on duty; supervising, supporting and mentoring junior team members with their knowledge by sharing your greenkeeping expertise.

You’ll support our turf maintenance schedules as our course continues to ‘grow-in’ maximising programmes for course efficiency, including preparing the already established golf holes in preparation of play - including marking hazards, grounds for repair and ensuring tee markers, bunkers, walk mowing bent grass greens complexes & the mowing of fairways, tie ins and roughs, golf furniture and general green maintenance are all carried out to the highest of standards and is synonymous of a DLC Club.

This is a wonderful opportunity and ideal if you thrive in a multiskilled role offering both variety and challenge. Previous experience in a similar role and/ or environment is essential. To be successful you will have a genuine interest and knowledge of the game as well as the desire to learn and develop in your career.

Knowledgeable of all the applicable legislation, regulations, and best practice, including Health and Safety, to ensure compliance; following all legislative guidelines for the preparation, use and disposal of chemicals, the safe use of tools, plant and equipment.

You can maintain a professional and welcoming approach when engaging with members, guests & visitors. As and when required carry out remedial and preventative work around the site to support other areas of the business. A full UK Driving License is essential, and the following qualifications would be a distinct advantage.

  • Proficient in Information Communication Technology
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Greenkeeping and Sports Turf Management, PA1, PA2 and PA6A spraying certificates
  • Certified to operate Chainsaws
