Summary

Key Result Areas Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis. Performing diagnosis/therapeutic procedures, subject to training/experience including, but not exclusively: -Venepuncture -Cannulation -Arterial blood gases -Injections -ECG -Urethral Catheterisation Long lines and PiCC lines -Nasogastric tube insertion -Thoracentesis Utilise highly effective communication skills to ensure all patients and their families are fully informed and consent to treatment. Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct and regulatory body (where applicable) To be a highly visible presence, acting as a role model and clinical support for colleagues Promote and lead services in the treatment of patients within Emergency and In Hospital Care areas Exercise a higher degree of personal and professional autonomy using advanced skills to include clinical interventions. To act as a resource for all staff both medical and nursing on all issues relating to areas of practice. To assist in clinical audit and the setting and monitoring of standards of care. Promote health education and provide appropriate information and advice to patients and their carers. Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping in line with local policies and regulatory body guidelines (where applicable) To develop own learning and contribute to the development and innovation of the service. The post holder will actively contribute to and promote service improvement initiatives, supporting staff to identifying productivity and efficiency savings utilising the LEAN methodologies. Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns, to meet the needs of the service and staff Tackle discrimination and harassment, and promote equality and diversity in the workplace Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff Take responsibility for personal development and education and the development of a Personal Development Plan.
